Welcome to the offical site for Maid for Life!
Maid for Life is a 10 foot sculpture located in Norfolk, Virginia. She was created by sculptor Georgia Mason for
the Relay for Life and unvailed at Norfolk's first Relay.
From the top of her head to the tip of her tail every color used on this sculpture represents a different form of cancer.
When asked about the meaning of Maid for Life, Mason said
" I wanted to make a sculpture that would be inclusive, for everyone fighting Cancer. If you look closely you will
see that her scales are cause ribbons.
I had five people in my family that had Cancer, each one having a different form. Wearing 5 different pins
was too much. I thought of my sculpture and decided to turn her into a pin to represent all cancers."
* One pin for everyone *
By wearing the Maid for Life pin you will be
supporting all those who are fighting Cancer.
